Roberta Liebenberg was named “Best Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers for Antitrust Law, Philadelphia. (April 2020).
Roberta (Bobbi) Liebenberg, a senior partner at Fine, Kaplan, and Black, was honored as the 2019 inductee to the American Antitrust Institute’s Private Antitrust Enforcement Hall of Fame on November 12, 2019 in Washington, D.C. The Hall of Fame recognizes practitioners for distinguished service to the private antitrust enforcement community.
Howard Trickey joins Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt as a Litigation Shareholder with 40 years of experience as a trial and appellate lawyer representing a diverse group of clients across many industries and practice areas. Francis “Pete” Jones, Jr. has been confirmed by the Delaware Senate to serve as a Judge of the Superior Court of Delaware. Jones has spent over 37 years practicing law and has been with the Delaware firm Morris James LLP since 1983.

Tom Scheuermann and long-time colleague, Dr. Robert T. Carter, recently co-authored and published a book entitled Confronting Racism: Integrating Mental Health Research into Legal Strategies and Reforms. This book proposes a comprehensive approach to confronting racism through a foundational framework as well as practical strategies to correct and reverse the course of the past and catalyze the stalled efforts of the present.

Christopher Conte was inducted into the North Haven High School Hall of Fame. Conte maintained a high standard of excellence in both academics—as a member of the National Honor Society—and athletics—earning a combined seven varsity letters for soccer and baseball, receiving multiple All-Area and All-State honors in both sports.

Catherine Hanaway has been named Chair-Elect of Husch Blackwell and will step into the position in April of 2021. Hanaway joined the firm in 2013 and will be the firm’s first female Chair.

The Hon. Gregory T. Douds was promoted on June 8, 2019 to the rank of Major in the Georgia State Defense Force. He has served as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate since December 2014, primarily in support of the Georgia Army National Guard’s Legal Assistance program.
David Reeves was elevated to Chair of the Florida Board of Bar Examiners effective November 1, 2019. Previously, in November of 2015, David was appointed a five-year term on the Florida Board of Bar Examiners and in October of 2018 he was elected Vice Chair of the Board by his fellow board members.
John Sten has been named partner at Armstrong Teasdale’s new Boston firm and is the new Co-Leader of AT’s Securities and Litigation practice area.

Scott N. Flesch has been appointed by The Judge Advocate General of the U.S. Army to serve as the next Army Chief Trial Attorney (CTA). The Army CTA serves as the authorized representative of the Secretary of the Army with sole authority and responsibility for the conduct and control of litigation of contract disputes for all Department of the Army cases docketed with the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals, excepting certain types of appeals originating from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As the Army CTA, Flesch will oversee the litigation activities of 34 military and civilian trial attorneys and paralegals who are assigned to the Contract and Fiscal Law Division (KFLD) of the U.S. Army Legal Services Agency. Flesch's term as the Army CTA will begin on January 1, 2020.

William Phelan was elected Catholic Charities Appeal (CCA) President of the CAA Board of Directors. Phelan has served as a member of the CCA Board since 2016 and advanced to the role of President after four years of dedicated service to the organization. He is the youngest Board President in CCA history.

Ralph Rohner passed away on June 11, 2020. As a Catholic Law Professor Emeritus and former dean of the Law School, Rohner was a renaissance man and a truly influential individual. His loss is monumental and the Law School is thankful for the vision that he shared with us all.

The Honorable Roger Gauthier passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the age of 76. During his time at Catholic Law, he was an Editor of the Law Review, and following law school, he received a direct commission into the Navy Judge Advocate General Corp. and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. During his career, he also held positions as Assistant United States’ Attorney for New Hampshire, the Assistant Hillsboro County Attorney, a lawyer at the law firm of Valeshka and Kozlowski, and then Kozlowski, Gauthier and Parodi, and as the Associate Justice of the Nashua District Court.
